"Jukebox Event"...What even is that?

Music can be an important part of the creative process for many people in fandom. This purpose of this event is to celebrate music's ability to inspire. Writers and artists claim a song from the discography of a selected musician and then use that song as inspiration to create a new fanwork.

Rules

  • Writers will create one new work of at least 1500 words by the posting period

  • Artists will create one new art piece that at least contains line art + flat colour (no backgrounds required)

  • Song claims will occur on a first come, first serve basis. However, if demand is high enough there may be multiple rounds of claims

  • Creations must be based on or inspired by the claimed song

  • Works must centre Haikyuu!! characters but there's no limit on ships or characters. Ships can be platonic or romantic !!

  • AUs, Reader-inserts, Canon Compliant and Canon Divergent works are welcome!!

  • NSFW and Dead Dove content are allowed but must be properly tagged

  • Multi-chapter works are welcome and only the first chapter needs to be completed by the end of the event

  • All mediums of art are welcome

What is this event?

Jukebox events are celebrations of the ways music inspires creatives in fandom. Artists and writers will claim a song from the discography of the spotlighted musician and create a work based on that song.The works created must centre Haikyuu!! characters but there are no restrictions on characters or relationships. Works depicting romantic and platonic relationships are welcome!

How will claims work?

There will be a form made available at a later date. Claims will be given on a first come, first serve basis but if demand is high enough there may be more rounds of claims.

What is the minimum word count/completion expectation for this event?

Writers are expected to produce one new work of at least 1500 words by the posting period. (Multi-chapter works are welcome and do not need to be fully completed by posting date.)Artists are expected to produce at least one new art piece with line art + flat colour. Backgrounds are not required.

Are there any content restrictions?

NSFW and Dead Dove content are allowed but all content must be tagged appropriately.
